I have created this page in the hopes of getting women, and men if they care to, in touch with other women who are facing the daily struggles of having special needs children. Not every day is difficult. With the right outlook, we can get through even the most difficult of times. Each day brings with it new hurdles to overcome, but as each day progresses, so to can our joy in our child progress. I have chosen to put the starfish on my page, because it represents a special ideal. Maybe some of you have heard of the story involving a young boy and a starfish. One day an little boy was walking along a beach, that happened to be covered with starfish. As he proceeded down the beach, he came across a old man. As he got closer to the old man, the young boy noticed the he was picking up starfish and tossing them back into the ocean. Puzzled, the boy said, "Old Man, why are you throwing the starfish into the ocean? There are too many of them on the beach, you will not make a difference tossing a few of them back." The old man never stopped as he said to the boy , "I just made a difference to this one." Even if all you do is help one child, you have forever made a difference to that child. May all of you who do, be blessed. |
